
Biography
Aaron Davis is a leader in the planning, urban design and landscape architectural field. He has worked on over 50 projects worldwide – ranging from a new town in Bahrain to an urban infill project in London. His strength lies in taking projects from concept to completion. His contributions to community mapping are recognised for their influence on making walkable, mixed-use urbanism, which have been applied to neighbourhood plans across the United Kingdom. He has also worked on development control guidelines that are currently being applied to sites ranging from 10 to 10,000-hectares throughout the UK, USA and Middle East. His strength however lies in strategic master planning and has worked on developments in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, USA, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Russia, China, Myanmar, Australia, Sierra Leone and Gabon.
Aaron is a dual-qualified Planner and Landscape Architect in the UK and USA. He holds a Masters in Urban Planning from the London School of Economics (LSE), Bachelors of Landscape Architecture with a Minor in Urban Planning from the University of Florida, an Associate Degree in Architectural Design and studied at the Universidad Federal do Parana in Curitiba, Brazil. Since 2012, Aaron has worked for the Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, a school and trust set-up by HRH The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) to promote a return of traditional values to architecture and urbanism. He previously held positions at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Edward Durell Stone and Associates (EDSA), and has provided academic research to the Urban Land Institute in the UK and USA. This range of positions allows him to understand a project’s built, natural, social and financial demands. Having started his career in landscape architecture and moving into planning and urban design - he is able to create environmental solutions at a local level whilst understanding the broader global challenges of urbanisation.
Aaron is a member of the UK Landscape Institute, an Associate of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and a LEED-ND Certified Practitioner. In 2014, he was selected as a finalist for the ULI European Young Leader Award and in 2015 became listed under the UK Design Council’s ‘One to Watch’ Scheme. Projects he has worked on have won numerous awards – including the Australian Baksia Award for Sustainability and the American Planning Association’s Pierre L’Enfant International Planning Award. He remains active in a number of organisations in the UK and his native USA – including the Urban Land Institute, ALSA and the Academy of Urbanism. He also speaks and has spearheaded campaigns about the importance of promoting place making in planning. Aaron’s family, including wife Michele and daughter Annabel, have called North London home since 2010.
